“gentlemen”

So last night my husband said, “Every time I go to the gas station, I see young girls pumping gas.  Their boyfriends are sitting in the cars, chewing gum, texting, doing nothing, and the girls are pumping the gas and getting the receipts and stuff.  And the guys aren’t doing anything. I just can’t believe it.”

 Really?  Really?

Now I wonder what kind of guys these are.

Are they the kind of guys who don’t go under the house and work on the A/C?

Are they the kind of guys who don’t lift a finger so their younger daughters can have a car to drive to school?

Are they the kind of guys who have their wives pay for their own medical insurance, have their wives pay for their daughters’ medical insurance, rather than actually providing for their families?

 I wonder.

And then there are us foolish girls who actually put up with this…..

  1. Maybe they are the type of guy who is allergic to gasoline fumes and has to stay in the car, or maybe they are the type of couple who doesn’t believe in traditional gender roles and takes turns, or lets the female do it because it is her car, after all. Pumping gas doesn’t involve lifting three hundred pounds, so who cares? Maybe women who sit in the car and make their partner pump the gas every single time are lazy, mean-spirited people as well.

  2. That is so double standard…
    grrr…
